The Hunnewell School in Wellesley just stopped by with bags upon bags of candy. Numerous 4th graders helped bring in the enormous load that over 20 students worked hard to gather. What was even more striking, however, beyond all the colorful wrappers of Halloween candy were the beautiful, handwritten letters the students so carefully made. We know that these precious notes will bring many bright smiles on our service men and women overseas. The Candy will be shipped by CarePacks, a nonprofit organization, who sends care packages to soldiers serving abroad.
There is still time to join in on the giving! The Candy Drive will be wrapping up this Friday, November 9th, so if your organization is thinking about donating the candy, don’t hesitate.
This is our 5th annual Candy Drive and it’s shaping up to be our biggest ever. Communities from Wellesley and the entire metro-west area are coming together for this event.
Donations for the Candy Drive will be happily accepted now through Friday, November 9 at the Wellesley Dental Group on 5 Seaward Rd in Wellesley. We request that all donations be dropped off during business hours: Monday through Thursday from 8am to 4pm and on Fridays from 8am to 1pm. From our office in Wellesley, all the candy and letters will be shipped overseas to the soldiers via CarePacks, a non-profit organization
