The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the Wrigley Oral Healthcare Program (WOHP) are teaming together for the sixth year to highlight the importance of practicing good oral health habits and maintaining a healthy smile.
It is important to note that a healthy daily dental routine not only benefits your oral health, but also improves your overall health! Being aware of this can help prevent diseases such as diabetes, cancers, and cardiovascular diseases, which are commonly linked to condition of your oral health.
National Dental Hygiene Month was created in order to spread awareness on the necessities of brushing teeth at least twice daily, flossing every day, rinsing with antimicrobial mouthwashes, and chewing sugar-free gum. Follow the 2 x 2 rule!
Brushing your teeth for 2 minutes, twice a day is one of the most important ways to get rid of plaque and prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues.
